Esthetician in Training
In 2017 I moved to the desert to purchase two spa stays and to seek answers to some important questions. I was finally at a point in my life where I wanted to do something with my career that was more meaningful than Internet technology. I also knew that I wanted to spend part of my time at work in a peaceful setting. So for the next year, I began to happily work on my spa stays and to reflect on what I wanted to do and to go next.
As with many people who come to the desert, it was easy for me to find the answers I was seeking. Internet marketing technology is interesting and profitable, but at the end of the day I felt isolated and empty. In teaching and investment advising, I shaped minds and portfolios which were impactful in the lives of others. This made me feel connected and full of joy.
The desert is not just a good place to reflect on one’s life. it is also a great place to be outside and active. Two months after moving to the desert I began to have monthly facials to try to protect my skin from the damaging effects of the sun. They felt so amazing and left my skin feeling softer and more plump. I became obsessed with skin, skin care, and skin products.
The Epiphany
During the course of my fourth facial, I felt asleep during the facial massage. When I woke, it was clear to me that I needed to become serious about skin care. Skin care was more than one thing, or one product or one treatment. I became obsessed with learning more!
